David and Carsten met in seventh grade at Concordia Lutheran School and have been best friends ever since. Megan and I met in undergrad freshmen year and also happen to be best friends. Turns out that David's best friend and my best friend are a perfect match, which honestly feels like something that only happens in movies. When Megan and Carsten started dating about a year ago it was obvious that they were going to get married, it was only a matter of time. On Friday, June 8th my best friend said YES to the man of her dreams. David and I are grateful that we got to share this big day with them alongside our closest friends. It was a memorable night and we all can't wait to finally start planning this wedding...officially lol
Carsten put together a surprise engagement party for Megan so while Carsten was proposing we all anxiously waited for the newly engaged couple to arrive at Brimmer and Heeltap, an adorable restaurant in Ballard. Megan had no idea that we were all waiting for them to celebrate and seeing her reaction is my favorite moment from the whole evening. Briana, Megan's sister, did such a wonderful job decorating - it was seriously beautiful.
Watching Megan and Carsten round the corner and seeing her response when she realized that we were all there waiting immediately brought tears to my eyes. To witness that much surprise and joy is such a powerful feeling, especially when the person experiencing it is someone you love. Looking at these pictures still gets me choked up.
Cheers to Megan and Carsten - we love you both with all of our hearts.
We are missing a few people but let me tell you...these humans are the best. Let the wedding shenanigans begin!
